THE NEGRESCO HOTEL

This famous hotel, easily recognizable by its pink dome, is an icon in Nice. The elaborate interior makes you feel like you’re walking into luxury.

But one thing I love about the Negresco is its art collections from famous and not-so-famous artists, including paintings and sculptures throughout the hotel.

The Negresco is located on the Promenade des Anglais and has, of course, excellent service, great beach views, and an old-time elegance. Each room is uniquely decorated and has a different atmosphere.

As you can imagine, such a hotel has all amenities onsite like an excellent breakfast, a Michelin star restaurant, a private beach, and a very helpful concierge plus much more.

It’s the best place to stay in Nice for a luxurious experience.

But even if you don’t stay here, do come and check out the art collection. It’s fantastic.

HOTEL WESTMINSTER

The Westminster Hotel & Spa faces the Mediterranean Sea on the Promenade des Anglais. It’s located not far from the Hotel Negresco and an easy walk to the Zone Pietonne area.

Not all rooms are the same, some have sea views and other partial city views, but all are comfortable, although some are smaller than others.

Make sure your room has a small balcony so that you can just gaze into the Baie des Anges anytime you wish 🙂

The staff is very helpful and it’s a great location.

The Hotel Le Royal faces located on the Promenade des Anglais has great deals if you come in low season.

It’s lost some of its glory over the years, and the reception lobby area may need some love… The rooms are comfortable with a mix of city views and sea views where you can enjoy a gorgeous sunset from the balcony.

Some rooms have undergone modern renovations, but not all. So make sure you’re ok with the room you book.

Hard Rock Cafe is steps away and the old town is a nice 15-minute stroll on the Promenade.

*CITY CENTER for shops and restaurants

The center of Nice may be a little vague for some.

For the purpose of suggesting hotels, I’m considering the center of Nice to be close to Place Massena, the Zone Pietonne, as well as Avenue Jean Medecin.

That’s where most first-time visitors concentrate their time, so if you find a hotel close to any of these areas, you’re good.

This neighborhood is not touristy, yet it’s just 15 minutes walking to the old town and 10 minutes walking to Jean Medecin Avenue.

Just down the street, you can have a coffee or a meal in the neighborhood at the numerous small restaurants and boulangeries.

Hotel Lepante is located on a small main street with a high school close by, but noise isn’t a problem at night.

The rooms are basic yet very clean and well-appointed with AC, plus the staff is extremely friendly.

However, if you have heavy luggage, ask for help getting them up the stairs.

You can easily recognize this hotel with its beautiful orange facade!

HOTEL VILLA DE LA TOUR

Villa de la Tour is located on the border of the Old Town, which is perfect to walk the labyrinth-like streets.

The small hotel is across the tram tracks from La Coulee Verte leading to Place Massena. Place Garibaldi is a few minutes away and from there you can walk to the Port.

Rooms are cozy, have AC and are all decorated differently.

Villa de La Tour is a family-run hotel full of charm with special attention to detail, however, there’s no lift and the narrow staircases take some getting used to.

But that’s the downside of staying in the Old Town.

In the summer there is an outside seating area where you can have a nice lunch.
